Summer season underway

It was a great start to the season for Bedales tennis as the U15 boys beat KES Witley on Tuesday, and Salesian on Wednesday in a very tight game which the Bedales team of Dylan Allenby Ryan, Tom Harris, Lev Boristvetc (playing up from Block 2) and Joe Murray won on a deciding tie-break. The U16 boys played a Charterhouse team that was unbeaten last season. With good wins from Tom Reynolds and George Robson, the match was evenly poised after the singles round. The opposition’s doubles’ play proved too strong however, and Bedales lost 4-2 overall with the final match decided by a tie-break. On Wednesday, the 1st boys’ basketball played Frensham Heights, but despite good play by Bedales two key players in the opposition blocked many of their chances, resulting in a 36-15 loss. The cricketers also faced Frensham in a home match, with the visitors scoring 140 and Bedales all out for 90, with Gabriel Curry reaching our top score of 22. In girls’ rounders the U15 team started their season with a fantastic win, beating Bohunt 32.5-16. Unfortunately the girls’ tennis weren’t as successful as they lost 4-2 against St Swithun’s.
