In the Hampshire schools doubles last week, Lev Borisovets (Block 5) and Oscar Goldbatt (Block 5) came fifth, playing some outstanding tennis throughout the tournament. Meanwhile, Illy Verdon-Roe (Block 5) and Amber Pearson (Block 5) came seventh, remarkably winning one of their matches from three match points down.

Finals day, also last week, was extremely busy and we saw some magnificient finals. Maud Bonham-Carter (6.2) won the senior girls singles 6-2 6-1 against Illy Verdon-Roe; Sasha Arney won the lower girls singles 6-1 against Dora Woolridge (Block 3); Oscar Goldbatt won the senior boys singles 7-6 6-4 against Lev Borisovets; Maud Bonham-Carter and Illy Verdon-Roe beat Mimi Lomax (Block 5) and Thea Levine (Block 5) 6-2 6-1 in the girls doubles; and Lev Borisovets and Maud Bonham-Carter beat Oscar Goldbatt and Illy Verdon-Roe 6-1 7-5 in the mixed doubles.

The pick of the finals was the boys doubles, which was closely contested over 2.5 hours. Oscar Goldbatt and Cameron Dejahang (Block 4) came through a truly outstanding match 7-6 7-6 against Lev Borisovets and Angus Forbes (Block 5).
