Boys’ First XI & U18B v Box Hill, 28.11.2018

By Spencer Leach, Director of Sport

The goals have come thick and fast in the last few weeks. The U16s staged another remarkable Bedales comeback in our block fixture against Box Hill. 5-2 down just before half-time, they never gave in and got their rewards with a highly improbable 6-5 victory. The U14s shared the honours in a ten goal frenzy and the seniors lost in two close and well contested matches.

In boys’ football this week, the 1st XI continued their winning form with an emphatic 3-0 victory over Box Hill, with goals from Tom Reynolds, Luca Caruso and Finn Carter. This followed a tense encounter with KES Witley on Badley Weekend, with Bedales coming out 2-1 victors despite a late spell of pressure from the opposition. The team will be hoping to continue their winning form in the coming weeks. The U14 team advanced to the next round of the ESFA cup with a great attacking display against KES Witley. Following on from this, they remained unbeaten after a dramatic 4-4 draw with Box Hill on Wednesday.

In girls’ hockey, the 2nd XI put in their performance of the season beating Peter Symonds 6-2, including a 15 minute hat trick from Rosie Geaves. The U15 girls were on the end of a heavy defeat against Prior’s Field, however player of the match was awarded to Olivia Steel, playing in goal. The U14s beat Bohunt 2-0 in a competitive game, pressing really high up the pitch and putting the opposition under a lot of pressure, however missing a number of clean cut chances. Nonetheless, still a great win and a fantastic performance.
